Qatar gets set for transport upgrade

A Qatari visit to Geneva today demonstrates the nation’s determination to activate TIR and to work with IRU to strengthen transport and trade potential for the region. 

IRU Secretary General, Umberto de Pretto, and the Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications, H.E. Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at IRU Headquarters, outlining a roadmap for collaboration on the development and professionalisation of Qatar’s road transport industry. 

The MoU reinforces the ongoing partnership with Mowasalat, IRU’s member association and IRU Academy Associate Training Institute, which offers training and certification to professionalise the commercial transport sector and improve road safety in the State of Qatar.
